Project Goal:
Converting Massive into Meaningful

The Design Story:

Our client just purchased a house in Greenwich, Connecticut. He had a simple statement for his new home: “My biggest goal is to create a nice and fun space for my daughter... and I need my new home to be set up quickly, with ease, and with good taste.” Though other rooms were transformed into meaningful spaces, one room stood out - an oversized dining room. “I don’t entertain often so for my needs it seemed like a useless space.” Based on the concept of a modern “hotel lobby”, Stacey transformed this room into a multi-use space with designated zones for different activities. The room now includes a place for breakfast, a go-to spot for homework, a crafts table that can easily transform into a holiday dining table and a comfy place for some quality Father-Daughter reading time. The former formal dining room now is space with purpose and utility, helping our client and his daughter transition into a new house and thoughtfully turning it into their new home.

"After a huge life shift, I meet my clients wherever they are emotionally and practically, I want it to be a fun process. Divorce is not fun. This is a new chapter and a fresh start."
